CAT TV GUIDE

By Kate Wilson

When it comes to our cats, we'll do anything to keep them healthy, happy, and safe. For indoor cats, that means a little less time in the great outdoors. We can fulfill their urge to pounce, chase, and hunt by entertaining them inside with toys, but sometimes a little screen time can be a treat for your cat.

Here are some of Phil and Pearl's favorite videos that bring the outdoors in:
This video has a little something for everyone; chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. Phil and Pearl even recognize the intro to the videos on this channel, and come running. We can only leave this particular video on for a little while, because they try and scramble to the TV.
For something slightly more mellow for your cat to enjoy, the following channel is a good place to start.
We've also caught them watching our shows. We think it's the space lasers.
Star Wars

Bonus - Have you gone on a road trip with a cat lately? It can be stressful for all parties involved. When we first adopted Phil and Pearl, I was lucky to come across a tip about playing your cat soothing music in the car. On their very first ride home from the shelter, I played this song from YouTube. Ever since, I have it queued up before we leave the driveway. In addition to taking them for short drives around town as kittens (so the destination isn't always just the vet), and covering the top of their carriers with a blanket for a sense of security, I feel that the music really does make a difference. While it doesn't prevent every yowl, it definitely creates a calm environment and sets us all at ease.
